PGA Championship

Finally, the weather gods shone brightly on the PMGA.  This year’s second major parallel, the PGA Championship, was played under sunny and warms skies.  The course has endured a ton of rain this spring but is finally starting to round into fine summer condition.  The greens were rolling true and there was a report of a couple of drives actually rolling on the fairway.

The format was individual scoring, gold tees and winter rules.  Players could opt for a round on either Saturday or Sunday, so long as they played with another PMGA Member.

A total purse of $500.00 was available with #1 and #2 Gross and #1-6 Net paying off.

First place in the gross division went to your Plateau Cup leader, Darrell Clayton with a 5 over par 77.  Second place, one stroke behind, was Jason Richey.

First place in the net division went to Joe Lipinsky for his second victory of the year.  Tied for second were Bob Smrecansky and Manish Patel.  In his first PMGA tournament, Justin Lee tied for fourth.

Darrell Clayton maintains his lead of the overall Plateau Cup standings and is starting to open up a bit of a gap.  Big moves up the leaderboard were made by Joe Lipinsky, Bob Smrecansky and Jason Richie.  The next PMGA tournament is coming up on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.  This will be a two man Chapman event featuring a keg and $600 of prize money.
